Detailed History
Eight Volvo Olympian's were bought new by Southern Vectis in 1998 and entered service in a new, two-tone Island Explorer Blue livery. As with previous Olympian deliveries, they were supplied equipped with coach seating.

These Olympian's differed from the batch delivered in 1995 in that the upper deck front windows do not have opening vents.

During the summer of 2000 R756GDL [756] was repaired but the front VOLVO badge was not reinstated, following accident damage at Butterfly World, Wootton. [per Gavin Rowney]

Around October 2000 the between-deck vinyls were removed from the entire batch to allow for advertising space instead. [per Gavin Rowney]

During 2003 and early 2004 the entire batch were repainted into Island Explorer Underline Blue livery in:
May 2003: R754GDL [754]
[per Gavin Rowney]
June 2003: R756GDL [756]
September 2003: R757GDL [757]
